The Boathouse, Wetherby
We’d already worked with the owners of this beautiful boathouse, getting their previous property ready to go on the market and knew we’d have to be clever in terms of storage solutions when it came to creating their spaces in this new home. We created flexible storage for their large book collection in their living and dining rooms, a made to measure pantry cupboard and office unit and re-worked some of their existing pieces of furniture to give them a different purpose.
We met the amazing Gill Wilkinson from GMW in April 2013 when we asked her to stage our home prior to our putting it on the market for sale. Gill’s skills are second to none. She did an incredible job helping us to declutter our house and to supplement, when and where necessary, our furnishings to improve the general ambience of the house. The result was simply stunning and the house sold during a bad market to the third person who viewed it.
We also used Gill for advice when moving into our new, much smaller home. Gill helped us with fabrics, furniture coverings and custom made furniture together with brilliant ideas to make things work in small spaces. She even helped me learn how to make lampshades! A feat in itself for non-crafty me.
We have always used the advice Gill has given us as we have learned to trust her judgement re fabrics, colours etc. We never feel Gill is imposing her style etc on us, We always feel she is working with us, being sympathetic to our likes and dislikes.
Above all her skills, knowledge and ideas, Gill is great fun to be around. She is lively, enthusiastic, friendly and there when you need her. She is a wonderful human being. We are so glad we made that initial contact and we have since become great friends. We plan to utilise her skills in years to come – especially when redoing our kitchen next year.
We can’t recommend Gill highly enough. Everyone needs a Gill in their life and so does every home.
